Ruth Aylor

Ruth Aylor age 100 passed away Sunday January 24, 2010 at the Country View Nursing Facility in Bowling Green.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Gary Allum officiating.  Burial will be in the Keith Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:30 until the time of service.

She was born November 3, 1909 in Pike County, the daughter of Charles G. and Maude Davidson Harrelson.  She married Howard Lee Aylor in 1931 at Corso.  He preceded her in death in 1975. 

Survivors include one daughter Jane Pettey and special son-in-law James of Bowling Green; three grandchildren Danny Pettey, Jeff Pettey and Debbie Brown; three great grandchildren Sierra Pettey, Emma Pettey and Tim Brown; two great great grandchildren Eden and Davon Brown; numerous step grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and one brother Sam L. Harrelson of new Hartford.  She was preceded in death by one son Howard Eugene Aylor.

She was a housewife and assisted her husband on the farm.  She was raised in New Hartford and moved to Bowling Green when she and her husband sold the farm.  She was a member of New Hartford Baptist Church and attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Bowling Green as long as her health allowed her.  She enjoyed sewing, working in the garden and flowers.  She also enjoyed word search puzzles.
