Richard T. Biggs

Richard T. Biggs age 79 of Frankford passed away Sunday November 18, 2007 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Second Baptist Church in Bowling Green with Rev. John Birkhead and Rev. Don Amelung officiating.  Burial will be in the Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, IL. with Military Honors.  Visitation for Mr. Biggs will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Church.

He was born May 6, 1928 in Frederick, Maryland. On August 21, 1953, he married Donna V. Smith in St. Louis.  She survives.  Also surviving are one son Richard Mark Biggs and wife Karen of Bowling Green; one daughter Donna Biggs Grote and husband Joe of Curryville; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister Marion McClain of Frederick, MD. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Mr. Biggs served during WWII in the U. S. Coast Guard (Merchant Marines) and the Navy.  He was raised in Maryland then in 1952 moved to St. Louis where he worked for the railroad and operated printing presses and worked as a carpenter in construction.  He moved to Bowling Green in 1972 where he continued working as a carpenter.  He enjoyed woodworking, collecting model trains, working jigsaw puzzles and reading.  He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Pike County Missouri Hospice, Gideons or Crescent Heights Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Biggs, Joey Grote, Timmy Grote, Kevin Ponton, Brett Biggs, Joe Rowell, Gerard Jezik.
