Mark Allen Black age 42 of Silex formerly of Bowling Green passed away Sunday July 19, 2009 at the Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green, with Rev. Don Amelung officiating.  Burial will be in the Eolia Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mark was born May 3, 1967 in Louisiana, the son of Don and Julia Black.  On December 23, 2008 he married Jennifer Zimmerman.  She survives.  Also surviving are his parents of Bowling Green; two sons Dylan Colt Black and Alex Dakota Black both of Silex; three sisters Deborah Ingram and husband Robert of Bowling Green, Beverly Larsen and husband Michael of Marshall, Susan Kump and husband Ken of Bolivar; father in law John Zimmerman of Wentzville; six nephews; two nieces; two great nephews and one great niece.  He was preceded in death by his mother in law Deborah Zimmerman and one nephew Dustin Baker.

Mark grew up in Bowling Green and was a 1985 graduate of Bowling Green High School.  He took welding courses and became certified to do all types of welding.  He was currently employed as a welder inspector for Geeding Construction.
