Byron Kenneth Brown age 58 of Silex, passed away Tuesday July 31, 2007 at Silex Community Care in Silex.
Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Silex with Rev. Peter E. Gounis officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
He was born June 13, 1949 in St. Louis, the son of Byron Leroy and Mary Gertrude Bischdorf Brown.
Survivors include one son Anthony Dale Brown and wife Debra of Silex; one daughter Stacy Kay Burris and husband Michael of Troy; seven grandchildren; two brothers Jimmy Brown and Vernon Dury both of Illinois; two sisters Barbara Stone of Texas and Trudy Thompson of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Mark Brown.
Mr. Brown lived in the Silex area most of his life. He was a United State Navy Veteran and served during the Vietnam War from 1968 through 1971. He was on the ships, USS Pugent Sound and USS John F. Kennedy. Mr. Brown enjoyed seeing the country while trucking and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed barbecues and relaxing with friends.
