Dustin Kasey Burt age 18 of Bowling Green passed away Thursday December 28, 2006 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

            Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday January 2, at the Bowling Green High School auditorium with Fr. Wayne Boyer officiating.  Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bowling Green with full military honors.  Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday January 1, at the Bowling Green High School auditorium. 

           
He was born August 31, 1988 at Naval Air Station in Lamoore, CA to Keith and Mona Wade Burt.  Survivors include his parents Keith and Marsha Burt of Bowling Green, Mona Burt (Collines) of Three River, CA; one brother Keith Burt Jr. of Portorville, CA; three step brothers Jason Conley of Kansas, Deejay Burt of Poplar Grove, IL, Hunter Burt of Bowling Green; one step sister Kassie Durham of Bowling Green.  He was also survived by Grandma Kitty Trueblood of Ventura, CA and Grandparents Tom and Linda Hays of New Hartford, MO.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents Edward and Ruth Burt and one great grandmother Alma Hays.

            Dustin was a senior at Bowling Green High School.  He joined the Army national Guard January 20, 2006.  He attended, survived and graduated from basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood on August 24, 2006.  Dustin was assigned to the 2175th Military Police Unit out of Hannibal.  He also worked at McDonalds where he had been employed for almost 3 years.  He enjoyed hunting with his father, fishing, paintball wars, camping with his family and spending time with his family.  Dustin had many friends who he enjoyed spending time with, just hanging out, listening to music and watching movies.

            Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Peak, Jeremiah Peak, Austin Hays, Ethan Burt, Zachary Burt, Justin Bova, Jacob Hubble and Chris Burnett.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Ross, Seth Adams and Seth Straube.

            Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association.
