Jack Chatman

Jack Chatman 67 of Bowling Green passed away at his residence Thursday Nov. 19th after a lengthy illness.  Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 AM at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Charlie R. Wright Sr. and Rev. Marvin (Butch) Davis officiating.    Visitation will be from Friday from 4 – 8 pm at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green.

Jack was born September 12, 1942 in Bowling Green the son of Wilmer M. and Grethel E. Parsons Chatman.   He married Delilah Graddy on Feb. 15, 2002 in Bowling Green and she survives.  He was raised in Bowling Green and lived there most all of his life.  He graduated from BGHS in 1960.  Jack worked for Shaon Motors for several years and then went to work for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline where he worked at Pleasant Hill, Il., Colorado and Centralia retiring after 30yrs.  Upon retirement  Jack worked for the Bowling Green Police Dept. as the Code Enforcement officer and the Emergency Preparedness Director and was also active in the Bowling Green Fire Dept. where he was a lieutenant.  He was a member and deacon of the White Rose Baptist Church, member of the Bowling Green Lions Club and a member of Arthur Florence Mason Lodge #184.  Jack enjoyed camping, fishing and serving others in the community in anyway he could. 

Other survivors include three daughters Tereska Kay Chatman of Columbia, Kimberly Renee Chatman of Columbia and Samantha Lee Graddy of Bowling Green; 4 Grandchildren Tyrell, Alivia, Oralisha and Owen; two sisters Clothilde Sydnor of Denver ,Co.and Gloria Borndes of Bowling Green.  Also surviving a special childhood sister Lucille Grimmett, special niece Paula and other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Tyson and nephew Jeff.
