Laura Olivia (Ginger) Walker Christensen age 74 of Bowling Green passed away Sunday January 28, 2007 at St. Johns Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Don Amelung officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bowling Green. Visitation for Mrs. Christensen will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born December 25, 1932 in Louisiana to Carrol Andrew and Katherine Alice Ogden Walker.
She married James Walter Christensen on April 14, 1957 in Louisiana. He survives. Also surviving are two sons Ronald Jay Christensen and wife Cindy of Bowling Green, Daniel Ray Christensen and wife Karen of Jackson; five grandchildren Courtney and Josh Christensen of Bowling Green, Kylie, Kelsie and Kameron Christensen of Jackson; two brother in laws and one sister in law Dean Christensen of Tulsa, Ok., Rose and Dickie Wasson of Vandalia; one cousin, several nieces and nephews and special friend Marie Marsh of Bowling Green. Mrs. Christensen was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Ovid Walker, two sisters Wanelda Worsham and Juanita Beddies; several aunts, uncles and two great nephews.
Mrs. Christensen was raised in Louisiana and moved to Bowling Green in 1961. She was baptized at the Friendship Baptist Church in Bowling Green. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She devoted her life to caring for her family which she enjoyed very much especially her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association.
Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Worsham, Mike Beddies, Kent Betts, Brian Horton, Jordan Beddies and Richie Wasson. Honorary pallbearers will be David Worsham, Matthew Worsham, Bruce Wisdom, John Beddies, Mike Christensen, Kevin Christensen, Allen Christensen and Brian Christensen.
