Mabel A. Church age 88 of Curryville passed away 11:55 p.m. Thursday Christmas Day at the home of her daughter in Curryville. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday December 31, 2008 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Randall Cone officiating. Burial will be at the Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mabel was born August 17, 1920 in Des Moines, IA., the daughter of Benjamin R. and Nellie Ferguson Brower.
Survivors include seven children Herbert Everett and wife Carolyn of Anchorage, AK, Benjamin Everett and wife Carolyn of Vancouver, WA., Robert Everett and wife Sharon of Valdosta, GA.,
Connie Bay and husband Ron of Curryville, William Ross and wife Jeannie of Clarksville, TN., Micheal Church and wife Gabrielie of Oklahoma City, OK. and Bertha Prince and husband Jerry of Ochlocknee, GA. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; one sister Ermel Dickerson of Elsberry and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter Esther Rue; her parents, one brother and one sister.
She lived several years in Clarksville where she raised eight children. In later years she moved to Georgia where she lived for 28 years before returning to Missouri in 2004 due to illness to live with her daughter Connie Bay.
Mabel enjoyed the outdoors, sitting in the swing and spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved her family pets.
Serving as pallbearers will be Shawn Rue, Henry Martin, William Martin, Rob Brown, Damon Luebrecht and John Truax. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Norris, Timothy Everett, Josh Martin.
