Anna Gene Colbert age 87 of Curryville passed away Tuesday February 19, 2008 at the Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday February 22, 2008 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Mike Lewton officiating. Burial will be in the Curryville Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Colbert will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She was born February 4, 1921 in Bowling Green, the daughter of Henry Everly Clark Sr. and Ruth Lloyd Robinson Clark. She married Marvin Y. Colbert on March 16, 1940 in Columbia. He survives. Also surviving are two sons Billy Gene Colbert and wife Lynda of Curryville, Ronnie Wayne Colbert and wife Sharon of Hannibal; grandchildren Kelly M. Grote and husband Doug of Bowling Green, Kara G. Brewer and husband Jason of Hannibal, Megan E. Hughes and husband Philip of Gassville, Ark., Ronda K. Peasel and husband Price of Mesa, AZ., Jason C. Colbert and Tanya Steinkohf of St. Louis; great grandchildren Anna Madison and Brenan Quinn Grote and Carter Allen, Lily Gene and Carson Henry Brewer and Braden Price Peasel; one brother Henry Everly Clark, Jr. and wife LuLu Lee of Bowling Green. She was preceded in death by one sister Barbara Pennewell.
She had worked for 21 years as a clerk in Bennetts Jewelry Store in Bowling Green and served for 33 years as City Treasurer for Curryville. She was first a member of the Antioch Presbyterian Church and later transferred membership to the Curryville Presbyterian Church.
Pallbearers will be Jason Colbert, Doug Grote, Jason Brewer, Philip Hughes, Doug Colbert and Bill Dickinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Lewis, Gene Lewis, Price Peasel, Reid Wilson and Brad Dickinson.
Memorials may be made to the Curryville Presbyterian Church, Pike County Home Health and Hospice or Hannibal Nutrition Center.
