Robert E. Cole age 68 of Bowling Green, passed away December 29, 2007 at home surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the St. Clement Catholic Church in St. Clement with Fr. Wayne Boyer, Fr. Lou Dorn, Fr. Ed Doyle and Fr. Dan Merz officiating. Burial will be in the St. Clement Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
He was born May 12, 1939 in Iola Kansas the son of Stephen Maurice and Mary Katherine Cole and grew up in Quincy, IL. He married Pam Lawrence on October 6, 2001. She survives. Other survivors include four sons Dr. Michael and wife Leila of Vandalia, Daniel and wife Toni of Montgomery City, Joseph and wife Denise of Omaha, NE, and Stephen and friend Carrie Stallard of Chicago, IL; three brothers Stephen Cole and wife Sharon of Quincy, IL, Donald Cole of Quincy, and Rodney Cole and wife Karen of Kansas; sister-in-law Rhonda Kay Lunceford and husband Dennis of Bowling Green; former wife and mother of the children Catherine Marie Cole; six grandchildren Sheridan, Anthony and Madalyn of Vandalia, Christian and Isabella of Omaha, NE, Isaiah of Montgomery City; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bob graduated from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1962. He worked in Quincy before moving to Bowling Green in 1970 and became a partner of the Bowling Green Pharmacy from 1970 until present. He was a Hearing Instrument Specialist and was a member of the Missouri Hearing Society. He was a member of the St. Clement Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Bowling Green Rotary Club, Jaycees and was the 1976 Jaycees Man of the Year. He currently also sat on the Pike County Memorial Hospital Board. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, helping people, gardening, fishing and hunting with his sons, riding on his tractors, feeding and watching wild birds.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dr. Michael Cole, Daniel Cole, Joseph Cole, Stephen Cole, Danny Taylor, and Michael Graham.
Memorial may be made to the St. Clement Catholic School and the Pike County Memorial Hospital though the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home.
