Ron Connell, Sr., age 61 of Bowling Green, passed away April 8, 2009 at the Hannibal Regional Hospital.  Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday April 13, 2009 at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery with Rev. Frank Welch officiating. 

He was born June 28, 1947, to son of Thomas Edward and Wilma Jean Connell.  He married Jeanette Ann Nelson in Lynwood, CA on January 26, 1963, she survives.  Other survivors include sons Ronald Connell Jr. and wife Stephanie of Fellows, CA, Randy Connell of Bowling Green; daughter Rhonda Sisson and husband Monte of Bowling Green; brother Steven Connell of Norwood; sisters Barbara Delcour and husband (Laverne) of Norwood, Connie Skidmore of Mount Grove; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Connell.

He was born in Mt. Grove, MO, later moving to California for most of his live until moving to Bowling Green in the early 1990’s.  Ronald Started working at the age of 15 when he was a gas attendant.  He later became a manager of a Shell and Texaco station in California.  He retired from Royal Sells Trucking where he worked for 6 years.   He enjoyed playing cards, camping, fishing, horseback riding, and having coffee with the boys at Crystal’s Restaurant.   He was a member of the Baptist Church.
