Pauline Craig age 93 of New Hartford passed away Monday May 26, 2008 at the Country View Nursing Home in Bowling Green.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday May 28, 2008 at the New Hartford Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Hoehn officiating. Burial will be in the Keith Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Craig will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
She was born July 9, 1914 in New Hartford, the daughter of Thomas Alexander and Nellie Brandon Shepherd. On August 29, 1935 in Hannibal, she married Johnny Reed Craig. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1972. Also preceding her in death were two brothers Clarence Shepherd and one brother in infancy; two sisters Lula Carroll and Vena (Hopke) McDonald.
Survivors include son Tommy Craig and wife Eva; grandchildren Jim Craig and wife Rachel; great granddaughter Lily Craig; grandson Scott Craig and wife Tabitha; great grandchildren Emma and Evan Craig; all of New Hartford; son Mike Craig and wife Cecelia of New Hartford; grandchildren Rebekah (Craig) Kiem; Suzanne Roberts and husband Keith; Joseph Craig and wife Jocelyn and great grandson Jacob Craig all of Columbia.
She lived all of her life in the New Hartford area. She was a rural mail carrier for the New Hartford area for many years and also assisted her husband on the farm while caring for her sons and grandchildren. She was a member of Friendly Pioneers Group who visited area nursing homes providing music and singing. She also assisted at the Pike Pioneers serving meals. Mrs. Craig enjoyed gardening and working crossword puzzles and making several crocheted rugs. She was a member of the New Hartford Baptist Church where she had served as pianist, VBS worker and assisted where she was needed.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Craig, Joe Craig, Scott Craig, Keith Roberts, Henry Parrish and Phillip Stapleton.
Memorials may be made to the New Hartford Baptist Church or to the Keith Cemetery.
