Dorothy A. "Dot" Crowder

Dorothy A. (Dot) Crowder age 86 of Bowling Green passed away Friday January 5, 2007 at Moore-Pike Nursing Home in Bowling Green.

Funeral services will be held 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Keith Barnhart officiating.  Private graveside services will be held Wednesday at the Green Lawn Cemetery in Bowling Green.  Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

She was born February 21, 1920 in Mozier, IL., the daughter of James Franklin and Emma Lavina Vetter Anderson. She was raised in Illinois and upon marriage to Roy Welch moved to Clarksville.   She later married Carl Crowder and moved to St. Charles where she was employed at McDonald Douglas.  She and her husband then moved to Pike County in 1968 where they lived in Louisiana, Bowling Green and Edgewood.  They owned and operated Crowder’s General Store in Edgewood for several years and later converted the store into Crowder’s Boarding Home.  Mrs. Crowder enjoyed sewing, playing cards, checkers and working in her garden.  She and her husband adopted and raised three of their children.

Survivors include four sons James R. Welch and wife Sharon of New London, Ed Crowder of Bowling Green, Darrell Crowder and wife Diane of Bowling Green and Brad Crowder of Ft. Worth, TX.; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and one sister Wilma Welch of Bowling Green.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband one sister and two brothers.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Keith Crowder, Desirea Crowder, Chelsie Crowder, Matthew Crowder, Michael Crowder, Ethan Crowder, Dylan Crowder, Jeff Welch and Mike Welch.
