Christine J. Dieckmann

Christine J. Dieckmann age 63 of Mexico, formerly of Bowling Green passed away Wednesday January 20, 2010 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia after an unfortunate battle with cancer.  Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Fr. Bill Peckman officiating.  Burial will be in the Grandview Burial Park in Hannibal.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

She was born September 16, 1946 in Louisiana, the daughter of Norman and Claudia Frances Montermand Hamlett.  She was married December 26, 1970 in Troy to John Henry Dieckmann.  Survivors include her mother Claudia Hamlett Barney and stepfather Charles Barney of Bowling Green; three sons Steven Duane Dieckmann and wife Angela of Centralia, John Norman Dieckmann of Webster Groves, Cory David Dieckmann of Mexico; three granddaughters Brittany Nicole and Kati Danielle Dieckmann and Kaitlyn Clark; two step grandchildren Mekenzie and Derik Prange.  Also surviving are two sisters Linda (Winnie) Robbins and husband Norman (Shorty) of Laddonia, Lori Danella and husband Andy of Lee’s Summit, several nieces and nephews and special friend Patrick Pridemore.  Preceding her in death is her father Norman (Sarge) Hamlett.

Ms. Dieckmann grew up in Bowling Green, graduating from Bowling Green High School in 1964.  She lived in Farber for 32 years before moving to Mexico.  She was a homemaker, raising her children, then worked at Dawn Food Products in Mexico for the past five years.  She enjoyed reading books, newspapers, genealogy and NASCAR and local dirt track racing  She was a Catholic by Faith.
