Mary Beth Erickson age 55 of Bowling Green passed away Saturday March 6, 2010 at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Clement Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Peckman officiating.  Burial will be in the Green Lawn Cemetery in Bowling Green.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green.

She was born December 7, 1954 in St. Louis, the daughter of George and Isabelle Hoeckelman Van Well.  She was raised in Overland. She attended Missouri Valley College in Marshall, graduating Magna Cum Laude.  On December 28, 1974 in St. Louis, she married Jim Erickson.   She then moved to Bowling Green where she taught school until her Multiple Sclerosis impaired her from teaching.  Mrs. Erickson was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church.  She was active in Cursillo, Christs Renews His Parrish, Residents Encounter Christ and God’s Harvesters.  She was known as a prayerful person, lifting many souls to Christ.

Survivors include her husband of Bowling Green; one son Chris Erickson of Bowling Green; one daughter Jenny Erickson of Hannibal; three brothers Richard Van Well and wife Mary Kay, Don Van Well and wife Rosalee and Ken Van Well and wife Rosalind all of St. Louis and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Multiple Sclerosis Society or Residents Encounter Christ.
