Marilyn Finley age 73 of Bowling Green passed away Tuesday September 1, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Frank Welch and Rev. David Land officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery near Bowling Green. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
She was born May 10, 1936 in Bowling Green, the daughter of James Roy and Annabel Johnston Inlow. She married H. LeRoy Finley on June 23, 1961 at Peno Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1998. Survivors include one son Jacob L. Finley and wife Barbie of Frankford; one daughter Lisa L. Reading and Gary Hamilton of Frankford; six grandchildren George Reading III, Gary Hamilton Jr., Stephenie Hollingsworth, Zeb, Kelsey and Zach Finley; and two great grandchildren Angelina Reading and Natalee Hollingsworth; two brothers Dan Inlow and wife Betty Jo and Mike Inlow and wife Sue all of Daphne, AL. and one sister Leta Wright of Fresno, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother James M. Inlow; three sisters Dorothy Provencher, Virginia King and Betty Young.
Marilyn Finley lived in the Bowling Green area all of her life. She enjoyed baking and often took homemade snacks to school. She also enjoyed making crafts for people. She loved her grandchildren. She was a member of Peno Baptist Church where she had been Church pianist since 1949 and assisted with Vacation Bible School.
Serving as pallbearers will be Darin Inlow, Kevin Inlow, Bill Raufer, James Ingram, Calvin Colbert, Jake Pilkington. Honorary pallbearers will be Kelsey Finley, Angelina Reading, Natalee Hollingsworth, Stephenie Hollingsworth, George Reading III, Zeb Finley, Zach Finley and Gary Hamilton Jr.
