Erwin Frankum

Erwin Eugene Frankum age 86 of Bowling Green passed into eternal rest on Sunday March 2, 2008 at 4:00 a.m. following a lengthy illness at the Moore-Pike Nursing Home in Bowling Green. 

No services will be held.

He was born September 3, 1921 in Curryville, the son of Herbin and Minnie Frankum.  He graduated from Curryville High School.  He served in the Army during WWII as a Staff Sargent in France.  In 1951 he married Darline Hanson.  She survives.  Also surviving are two daughters Janis Hanson and Paula McIlroy and husband John McIlroy Jr.; one granddaughter Teresa Crosby and husband Jim; great grandchildren James, Blaine and Tamara all of Dexter whom he loved so much.  Also surviving are 2 nephews Gene Lewis and family and Danny Lewis and family all of Curryville and many friends.  Preceding him in death were one great grandson Anthony Lee Luebrecht and one sister Isabel Lewis and husband Elgin. 

Mr. Frankum was a farmer and also worked for the Missouri State Highway Department in Bowling Green and Troy.  He retired in 1981 and moved back to Bowling Green.  He was a great hunter and loved the St. Louis Cardinals.  Following the failure of his health he entered the Moore-Pike Nursing Home in Bowling Green in April 2006.  He was a member of the Second Baptist Church  of Bowling Green where he attended until he became ill.  He will be sadly missed by all, who knew and loved him.
