Richard Charles Fuerst age 68 of New Hartford passed away Thursday September 27, 2007 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 29, 2007 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green, with Rev. Don Amelung officiating. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery near New Hartford. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He was born April 28, 1939 in St. Louis, the son of Anthony August and Flora Elizabeth Korman Fuerst. On July 12, 1959 in Bowling Green, he married Glenna Lybarger. She survives of Eolia. Also surviving are two daughters Jenny Early and fiancée Ron Kagy of New Hartford, Cindy Fuerst of New Hartford; two grandchildren Darron Early of New Hartford, Jessica Ince and husband Terry of Frankford; three brothers Irvin Fuerst and wife Diane, Clifford Fuerst and wife Debbie and Edward Fuerst all of New Hartford; one sister Arlene Leonard and husband Bob of Old Monroe; and cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece Shelly Fuerst.
Mr. Fuerst moved to New Hartford in 1964. He enjoyed reminiscing about the past, hunting and loved his Kawasaki mule. He was known for only owning and driving Dodge vehicles. He raised hogs and enjoyed all outside activities including cutting wood, driving his tractors and helping his neighbors. He was a member of Siloam Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Cindy Fuerst, Darron Early, Bill Coates, Dorsey Horton, Roscoe Ferkel and Ron Kagy. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Ron Bay.
Memorials may be made to Siloam Cemetery.
