Billy Gene Gaw

Billy Gene Gaw age 80 of Bowling Green passed away October 25, 2007.  Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday October 29 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with  John Veach officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Clement Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

He was born January 25, 1927 in Cyrene the son on Eugene and Esther Pauline Jensen Gaw.  He married Agnes Scherder August 4, 1951 at the St. Clement Catholic Church.  She survives.  Other survivors include two sons Ed Gaw and wife Karma of Bowling Green, Darrell Gaw and special friend Dawn Neuschafer of Center; three daughters Marietta Lindquist and husband Gary of the state of California, Ann Brewer and husband Mike of Bowling Green, Alice Charlton and husband John of Bowling Green; 12 grandchildren Erik Lindquist, Sara Lindquist, Stacey Kiel and husband Chris, Jill Kiel and husband Brandon, Jordan Gaw and special friend Korynne Welch, Tyler Gaw, Morgan Gaw, John Charlton II and wife Carmen, Wes Charlton and wife Traci, Josh Charlton, Allison Gaw, Danielle Gaw; 10 great grandchildren Taylor Lewis, Zach Kiel, Kinley Charlton, Kaylyn Charlton, Bailey Kiel, Cooper Kiel, Logan Held, Katie Nette,  Sydney Charlton, Jackson Charlton; Aunt Ellen Jensen of Bowling Green; two step brothers Alfred Colbert of Whiteside, Charlie Cox of Bowling Green; sister in law Mary Gaw of Bowling Green; several cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by one brother Wayne J. Gaw. 

He was a lifetime member of the Pike County community where he ran a trucking business for over 50 years hauling grain and livestock.  He was a member of the US Army from 1950 to 1952 serving during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.  He was also a member of the Missouri Cattleman’s Association.  He enjoyed bowling, dancing, going to the farm and mowing with his John Deere tractor. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Kelch, Gary Keeven, Charlie Rule, Bill Richard, Donald Watson and Jordan Gaw.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren. 

Memorial may be made to the Pike County Home Health and Hospice.
