Bert H. Green age 85 of rural Bowling Green passed away Monday December 22, 2008 at his residence. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday December 30, 2008 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with John Veach officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post # 5553 at the funeral home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
He was born April 4, 1923 in Corso, the son of J. Gilbert and Lena Baker Green. On February 12, 1949 at St. Clement, he married Mildred Martha Geujen. She preceded him in death on March 25, 2003. Survivors include one son James M. Green and wife Karin of LasVegas, NV., one daughter Lynda Luebbers and husband Alan of Bowling Green, four grandchildren Lori Cohea of Bowling Green, Tim Luebbers of Blue Springs, Jeff Green and Joe Green both of Chicago, IL., two great grandchildren Nicholas Cohea and Shelby Cohea both of Bowling Green and one sister Darline Rutherford and husband Harold of Curryville and many friends and neighbors.
He was raised in the Olney and Concord area. Bert was a grain and livestock farmer in the Bowling Green area all of his life. He served in WWII in the Army Air Force and was a member of the VFW Post #5553 of Bowling Green. Mr. Green also served on the Board of Directors for REA out of Mexico.
