Betty Griffith age 85 of Bowling Green passed away Sunday January 10, 2010 at the Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Skip Merkel officiating. Burial will be in the Bowling Green Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of service.
She was born January 8, 1925 in Pearl, IL., the daughter of Clarence Dow and Beatrice McCann Lewis. She married Hurley Raymond Griffith and he preceded her in death November 7, 1997. Survivors include one son Jack (Butch) Griffith and wife Pamela of Warrenton; one daughter-in-law JoAnn Griffith of O’Fallon; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers Joe Lewis and wife Rosie of Bowling Green, Ted Lewis and wife Martha of New Haven and one sister Hylah (Sug) Moran of Bowling Green. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son Donald Wayne Griffith; two brothers Richard Lewis and Clarence (Little Buddy) Lewis in infancy; four sisters Pat Booth, Peggy Scherder, Ruth Hayes and Corrine Hussong.
She worked as a cook at Bowling Green RI School, then worked at the Bowling Green Pharmacy for several years. She was then employed at Pike County Mutual Insurance until she retired. She enjoyed camping with her husband and in later years enjoyed her coffee drinking group at Hardees.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Spegal, Mike Moran, Brian Douglas, Tony Scherder, Rick Hays and Rodney Hays.
