Gary Hanson age 69 of St. Louis passed away Thursday September 25, 2008 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with John Veach officiating. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery near Bowling Green. Visitation for Mr. Hanson will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
He was born July 23, 1939 in Hanford, CA., the son of Stanley and Lois Horton Hanson. He moved to Missouri in 1947 and attended Vannoy Elementary School near Farmer. He was baptized at Concord Presbyterian Church. In 1957 he graduated from Bowling Green High School. He joined the Navy Reserves in 1955 and four years later was serving his country in active duty aboard the USS Forestal. He received an honorable discharge in 1962.
He was married to Glenda Claudine Kerns on February 9, 1964 and they resided in Bowling Green where Gary was self employed as a heavy equipment operator. He built many different lakes, ponds, waterways and trenches for many area farmers.
He is survived by his mother of Orlando, FL.; four sons Steve Hanson of Bowling Green, Kelly Hanson of Fredericktown, Roger Hanson and Matthew Hanson both of St. Louis; one daughter Kristi Eth also of St. Louis and 13 grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers Glen Hanson of Orlando, FL. and Phillip Hanson of Columbia; and by one sister Charlotte Mosher of Woodward, OK. He was preceded in death by his father and former wife.
Memorials may be made to the Concord Cemetery.
