Jim Harvey age 84 of Montgomery City formerly of Corso passed away Wednesday August 12 at the Silex Care Center in Silex.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 15, 2009 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Silex with Pastor Gene Lineberry officiating.  Burial will be in the New Liberty Cemetery near Corso.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

He was born September 14, 1924 in Eldon, the son of Raymond and Fern Kelso Harvey.  On August 22, 1943 in St. Charles he married Carmen T. Lineberry.  She survives.  Also surviving are one niece Debbie Densmore of Montgomery City; one sister Patricia Bono of Jefferson City and several others nieces and nephews. 

Mr. Harvey lived in St. Louis for a short time before moving to Corso where he opened Harvey’s Machine Shop.  They then moved to Montgomery City in 1963 where he continued to be a machinist, owning and operating Harvey’s Machine Shop.  He was a Christian and was raised in the Baptist Faith.  He enjoyed his work and growing many vegetables in his gardens. 

Pallbearers will be John Densmore, Cleve Wommack, Bob Klausner, Michael Leach, Dennis Lineberry and Gene Lineberry.
