A memorial visitation service for Leon Hawkins will be held at Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. Graveside services will be held Saturday at Worley Cemetery, Cash, Ark.

Leon died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 at Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana. He had been a resident of Moore-Pike Nursing Home for several years.
He was born Sept. 17, 1932 to John Ed and Mettie Dement Hawkins in Egypt, Ark.
He is survived by his children, Cindy Adkison of Frankford, Betty Jacobs of Gainsville, Texas, Bill Hawkins, Bowling Green, Carolyn Irvine, Bay City, Texas, Anna Moore, Bowling Green and Butch Boyer of Bowling Green; 28 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Hawkins of Rock Island, Ill., and Harrell Hawkins of Johnson, Iowa and three sisters, Gertie Hathcoat of Brookland, Ark., Joy McQuay of Cash, Ark., and Kathlreen Birrell of Benton, Ill.

He was preceded in death of his parents; three brothers, Pete Osterman, Alvie Osterman, Robert Hawkins and one great-granddaughter, Renee Gunderson.
