James Lee Kirtlink, 73 of Frankford passed away Friday May 14, 2010 at the Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana. Funeral services will be Monday May 17, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Richard Epperson officiating. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post #5553. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation will be held Monday from 4 p.m. until time services at the funeral home.
Mr. Kirtlink was born February 2, 1937 in Frankford, the son of William Marvin and Nellie Mae Branham Kirtlink. He married Wanda Montague September 16, 1961 in Hannibal and she survives. Other surviving family includes two sons Jack L. Kirtkink and wife Shari of Frankford; Matthew Kirtlink of Albany, Ga.; two daughters Melody Kirtlink Cody and husband Jack of Frankford and Chrystal Kirtlink Stone of Rolla; 11 Grandchildren; one great grandson; one brother William Kirtlink of Greenwich, Rhode Island; four sisters Delores Zachowski of Tucson, AZ., Ruby Taylor of Quincy, IL., Wanda Ellis of Hannibal and Joyce Kuntz of West Plains. He was preceded in death by his parents and one great grandchild..
James grew up and lived in Frankford all of his life where he was a grain and livestock farmer. He served in the U.S. Army as a truck driver in Frankfort, Germany. He. loved hunting , fishing, woodworking, mushroom hunting and especially loved his John Deere tractor. The thing he loved the most was spending time with and caring for his grandchildren. He was Baptist by faith and had attended the Frankford Baptist church..
