Evelyn Knight age 80 of Bowling Green passed away Sunday January 31, 2010 at the Audrain County Medical Center in Mexico. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday Feb. 3, 2010 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Don Amelung officiating. Burial will be in the Curryville Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born February 14, 1929 in Curryville, the daughter of William Walter Sr. and Pauline Cullers Harrison. She married Ralph Althus Knight on December 13, 1946 in Mexico. Survivors include one daughter Linda Christian and husband Harlon of Bowling Green; daughter-in-law Gale Knight of Curryville; five grandchildren Brian Christian and wife Angie, Ralph Walter Knight Jr. and Ranelle, Tina Graver and Wes, Heather Leverenz and husband Gary and Courtney Knight and Jody; eight great grandchildren; two brothers Hubert Wesley Harrison of Haughton, LA., Wicky Harrison of Keithville, LA; one brother-in-law R. J. Knight and wife Paulette of Curryville; one Sister-in-law Jean Rice of Bowling Green and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons Ralph Walter Knight, Aubrey Lee Knight, Elijah Paul Knight and two grandchildren Cody Jason Knight and Dawn Michelle Christian.
She grew up in Curryville. She attended Elementary School and Jr. High school in Mexico then went to Bowling Green High School. She lived in Bowling Green all of her adult life until moving to Tri-County Nursing Home in Vandalia for the past five years. She enjoyed Bowling and loved Cardinal baseball and NASCAR.
