Betty Leverett

Betty Leverett age 87 of Bowling Green passed away Monday February 11, 2008 at Lincoln County Care and Rehabilitation in Troy.  Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday February 15, 2008 at the First Christian Church in Bowling Green with Rev. Raymond McLaren officiating.  Burial will be in the Fairmont Cemetery in Middletown.  Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green.

She was born December 20, 1920 in Sacramento, California, the daughter of Aubrey T. and Katherine V. Burks Ogden.  She married Jesse Dean Leverett in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He preceded her in death in September 1975.  Survivors include two sons Dennis Leverett of Bowling Green, Edward (Ted) Leverett and wife Carol of Wentzville; one daughter Sallie Martin and husband Mike of Kirksville; three grandchildren Phillip Martin of Kirksville, Jeffrey Martin and wife Melanie of Kansas City, Amanda Harris and husband Jeremy of Wentzville; five great grandchildren Daly and Luke Martin, Megan, Kylie and Jake Harris; one brother James Odgen of Hemet, CA. and one sister Maurine Harness of Middletown.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Judy Leverett in infancy; two brothers Aubrey E. Ogden and Thomas Ogden.

Betty was raised in Cyrene.  She then moved to Middletown and later to Bowling Green.  She had been a member of Heir Study Club, was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling.  She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Bowling Green where she had been a Sunday School teacher for many years.
