Jean Luckett age 82 of Silex passed away Sunday May 25, 2008 at her residence. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
She was born December 9, 1925 in St. Louis, the daughter of Howard Park and Louaddie Jane Harmon Middleswartz.
She was raised in Silex and graduated from Silex High School in 1943. On February 2, 1952 in Elsberry, she married Bill Luckett and he preceded her in death in July of 1965. Following her marriage, she moved to Wichita, Kansas where she lived for several years and returned to Silex in 1964. She worked at her parent’s restaurant, Jane’s Café in Silex for many years. She had also been employed at the Rosedale Nursing Home (Silex Community Care) where she worked in medical records and assisted with the activities. Jean enjoyed reading and going to yard sales and spending time with friends and family.
Survivors include one son Warren Luckett of Foley; one daughter Lynne Luckett of Silex; two grandchildren Billy Luckett and Cary Luckett; and one great granddaughter Sebrina Luckett. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Warren Middleswartz.
Memorials may be made to the Lincoln County Medical Center or the Community Loving Care Hospice.
