Mable Lyons

Mable Lyons age 90 of Silex passed away Sunday November 18, 2007 at the Troy Manor.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood with Fr. Paul Telken officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Alphonsus Cemetery.  Visitation for Mrs. Lyons will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Silex. 

She was born February 11, 1917 in Eolia, the daughter of Charles and Annie Elliott Cohea.  She was raised in the Eolia area.  She then moved to St. Louis where she worked at Famous-Barr until her marriage to Lawrence Lyons on June 18, 1949 in Millwood and has lived on the farm ever since. 

Survivors include her husband; two daughters Alice Coose and husband Ralph and Betty Lyons all of Troy; two granddaughters Lisa Burkemper and husband Jesse of Troy and Amber Arnold and husband Jeff of Jefferson City and one great grandson Dane Burkemper.  She was preceded in death by four brothers Clement, Gilbert, Elliott and Louis Cohea; two sisters, her twin sister Mildred Cohea and Geneva Cohea in infancy.

She was a member of the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and also the St. Alphonsus Sewing Club where she enjoyed quilting.  She also enjoyed her children and her grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Earthwise Industries (Lincoln County Sheltered Workship).
