Genevieve Meyer age 91 of Bowling Green passed away Wednesday August 22, 2007 at the Moore-Pike Nursing Home in Bowling Green.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the St. Clement Catholic Church with Fr. Wayne Boyer officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Clement Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green.

Mary Genevieve Meyer was born July 24, 1916 on a farm south of St. Clement.  She was the only child of William C. and Mary Oberdahlhoff Meyer.  The family later moved to the Renner Farm on Highway Y.  In 2945, the Meyers moved to a home on Main Street in Bowling Green next to the J. O. Mudd Funeral Home.

Genevieve attended Crow School for 8 years under the instruction of Mrs. Evaline McBride Williams.  She was a 4-H member and leader.  Miss Meyer was also a member of the St. Clement Homemakers Club and a life-long member of St. Clement Catholic Church.

As a young girl she did housework for several families.  After moving to Bowling Green, Genevieve worked at the Elder Garment Factory which was located behind their home.  She also assisted the J. O. Mudd family in many ways with the operation of their business.

Much of her life was spent caring for others.  While in Bowling Green she cared for Perry Mudd, daughter of J. O. and Margot Mudd.  She cared for both her parents in the home until their death.  Genevieve loved to sew and piece quilts.  She was an immaculate housekeeper; always one to keep items in their proper place.

Genevieve Meyer never married, forever mourning the death of her sweetheart, Frank Purk, on May 7, 1938.  She carried daily in her purse, his last personal gifts to her.

Miss Meyer moved to the Bowling Green Hi-Rise for a period of two years.  In 2004 she became a resident of Moore-Pike Nursing Home.

She is survived by several cousins and many friends
