Johanna Elizabeth (Lindemann) Miller passed away December 10, 2009. She was born August 31, 1922, the daughter of John and Mary Deters Lindemann, in Pike County, MO near Bowling Green. She grew up in that rural area and attended parochial and public schools and graduated from Bowling Green High School. She married First Lieutenant Lawrence W. Miller Sept. 28, 1943 at the St. Clement Catholic Church.
She was a housewife making a home for her family first on their farm near Bowling Green, then wherever in the Midwest her husband’s career relocated them; Fairmont IN, St. Joseph MO, Fort Dodge IA, Manhattan KS, Lenexa KS, and at retirement to their farm south of Louisburg KS where she and Lawrence were active in their community. She was a woman of many talents and enjoyed crafts, quilting, bridge and being an organist at her church. She also made the best pickles.
She is survived by her sons, Greg and wife Cheryl of Lenexa, KS; John and wife Minda of Benicia CA; Dwight of Louisburg, KS; daughters Lynn and husband Tom Sheely of Lawrence, KS; Lou Ann and husband Dave Patterson of Leawood, KS; and daughter-in-law Sherry Miller of Sulphur LA; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister Clementine Ogden of College Station TX; and sister-in-law Hilda Reed of Grand Rapids MI. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years and their son Mark.
Visitation will be at 8:30 a.m. December 15 at Mudd Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green, MO followed by a funeral mass celebrating her life. The mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church with burial in St. Clement cemetery.
