James (Buster) Mobley

James (Buster) Mobley age 80 of Bowling Green passed away January 4, 2008 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 8 1:00 p.m. at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with the Rev. Don Amelung officiating.  Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from noon until time of service on Tuesday.

          He was born January 10, 1927 in Hannibal, MO the son of Clifford James and Beady Ann Winn Mobley.  He married Ruby Ann Evans on his families farm near McCune station on September 29, 1962.  She survives.  Other survivors include a daughter, Diane Moravec and husband George of Bowling Green; brother Cecil Boyd Mobley of Seymour; sister Anna Frances Ambrose and husband Edward of Denton, Maryland; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and one uncle; seven grandchildren Dean Davison, Diane Davison, Roberta Gleason, Robert Tusa, Amy Tusa, Tina Held and Chad Held; two great-grandchildren Danny and DeIla Davison.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

          He worked for John Deere Harvester in East Moline, IL for 30 years until his retirement, they then moved to Willow Springs for 17 years. They then returned to their hometown of Bowling Green where they have been for the past 13 years.  He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served two years in the Quartermaster Corps. From November 1954, until November 1956 where he served during the Korean Conflict.  He was a life member of the VFW post # 5553. 

          Serving as pallbearers will be David Hamilton, Scott Hobbs, Dale Spegal, Chris Thomas, Steve Ambrose, Robert Tusa.  Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Henry, Jerry Clavin, Dean Davison and George Moravec. 

          Memorial may be made to the donor’s choice.
