George Rodgers Reading Sr.

George Rodgers Reading Sr. age 68 of Frankford passed away Sunday December 31, 2006 at his residence. 

Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday January 6, 2007 at the Frankford Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Epperson officiating.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

He was born April 20, 1938 in Hannibal, the son of Nathaniel William Sr. and Helen Margaret Rodgers Reading.  He married Millie Carlson on August 19, 1960 in Curryville.  She survives.  Also surviving are one son George Reading, Jr. of Frankford; one daughter Tammy Epperson of Frankford; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister Ann Dietle and husband Roy of Hannibal; He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Sandy Giltner, one grandson Joshua Giltner and one brother Nathaniel Reading Jr.. 

Mr. Reading was raised in Curryville and upon marriage lived the rest of his life in Frankford.  He was Presbyterian by Faith.  He was currently the president of the Mt. Air Cemetery Association, had served on the Frankford City Council and had owned and operated the Frankford Cafe.  Mr. Reading was a life long livestock and grain farmer and enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming.

Memorials may be made to the family c/o Mudd-Veach Funeral Home.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Miller, Gene (Sonny) Harrington, Richard Baker, Andy Leake, Tony Fischer, Mark Ford, Cliff Mahar and Harold Baker.

The Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green is in charge of the arrangements.
