Ethel Viola (Hendricks) Redmond, 73 of Bowling Green departed this life into glory on Monday, May 3, 2010 at the St. Lukes’s Hospital in Chesterfield. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Faye Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bowling Green. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M Saturday until time of services at the funeral home.
Ethel was born on April 12, 1937in Bowling Green, the daughter of Howard and Mary (Shipp) Hendricks, Sr.. She married William Andrew Redmond on May 16, 1959 in Troy, Mo. and he survives. They would have celebrated 51 years May 16th.
Other surviving family includes two sons Donald Garnett Hendricks and wife Frances and Paul Andrew Redmond; two daughters Katherine Lynne Redmond and Alice Elizabeth Scott and husband Robbie all of Bowling Green; 10 grandchildren, Ontret Perkins, Shalana Redmond, Alisha Redmond, Christopher Davis, Adrian Hendricks, Krista Scott, Aaron Scott, Kayla Scott, Bryan Scott and Ashlee Scott. 5 great grandchildren, two brothers Howard Hendricks, Jr. and wife Shirley and Harold Eugene Hendricks and wife Roxie, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Judy Kay and Ella Bernice and a granddaughter Ashley Marie Hendricks.
Ethel was raised and lived in Bowling Green all her life. She had worked with Bobby Brooks, Louisiana Plastics, Rivals, Bowling Green USDA Office and many other various jobs. She was a hard worker, excellent mother and homemaker. Ethel joined Wesley United Methodist Church at an early age and later became active in the choir, while able. She enjoyed knitting and sewing.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Hendrix, William Cockrell, Leroy McPike, Albert Lawson, Phillip Harris and Richard Cropp. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Brewer, Carl McPike, Cornell Randle, Bill McPike, Bobby Ray Florence, Earl McPike, Tyrone McPike, Keenan Willis, Eddie Clark, Eddie Linear and L. B. Grimmett.
