Our History
In 1946, James Otis (J.O.) and Margot Mudd purchased the property at 606 West Main Street in Bowling Green, Missouri. The building at that time was a large house dating from the 1880s. The exact date of its construction is unknown. The Mudds did extensive remodeling and redecorated the building. They opened the business under the name J.O. Mudd Funeral Home. Later that year, the Mudds purchased Vomund Funeral Home in Silex, Missouri and continued building a rich tradition of personal, caring service to the surrounding area.
After 41 years of service in Bowling Green, J.O. and Margot Mudd sold the funeral home on January 1st, 1987 to John and Cathy Veach. Later that year, a third location was opened in Frankford, Missouri. The business was renamed Mudd-Veach Funeral Homes. In 1994, the Silex location was remodeled and expanded. In 1997, a new property in downtown Frankford was acquired. In 2006, the site in Frankford was closed and service to the Frankford area continued through the remodeled facilities in Bowling Green.
In 2004, the property in Bowling Green underwent a major expansion and remodeling project. Renovations and additions included a new chapel equipped with an audio/video projection system, closed-circuit television system, main office, arrangement office and casket display center, handicap accessible restrooms, lounge, and parking expansion. That same year, Ryan Bibb joined as a full-time staff member. Our state-of-the-art facilities and qualified staff allow us to offer personalized options to meet your family's needs. We are committed to continuing the rich tradition of offering personal, professional funeral service.
On January 1, 2015 Mudd-Veach Funeral Homes took another step in its rich history by going through a name change as Ryan Bibb took on an ownership role in the funeral home. With this change, we felt it was an appropriate time to transition the name to Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes, LLC.
In January of 2017, John and Cathy Veach stepped down from day-to-day operations of the funeral home and retired after 30 years of ownership. On December 31, of that same year, Ryan took over sole ownership and has continued on the legacy that was handed to them. John and Cathy currently live in Springfield, MO where they are enjoying being closer to family.
With our passion for bringing stellar creativity in customized funeral experiences, in January of 2019, Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes began offering their exclusive Life Celebration services to the communities we serve. We collaborate with our families to deliver unique and memorable Life Celebration experiences on a daily basis. Our desire with each service is to transform the expected funeral service into an unexpected opportunity for our families to honor their lived one and begin the grieving and healing process.
In February of 2021, Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes began offering in-house cremation services. With the addition of an in-house cremation service located on premises in Bowling Green, we became the only crematory located in Pike County.

Ryan V. Bibb, Owner/Funeral Director & Embalmer
Ryan Bibb joined Mudd-Veach Funeral Homes in August of 2004 and became a partner in Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes and Crematory, LLC in January of 2015. Ryan is a 1998 graduate of Bowling Green High School and graduated in 2000 from Forest Park College with a degree in Mortuary Science. He is a licensed embalmer and funeral director. Prior to returning home in 2004, Ryan spent time working for funeral homes in Columbia, St. Louis, and Hannibal. With experiences in other parts of the state, Ryan was able to bring home with him fresh ideas that allowed the funeral home to expand the services that were being offered at the time. Ryan is very active in serving his community through local civic groups, coaching youth sports, and though his local church. Ryan is active with the Bowling Green Lions Club where he chairs the Flag Committee which is responsible for placing flags in front of area businesses on national holidays as well as the roundabout as people enter Bowling Green from Highway 61. He also has served as the Lions Clubs past president. Ryan serves on the board for the Bowling Green High School Alumni Association where he was served as President and is responsible to creating the programs for the annual banquet held each September. Ryan also serves on the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Board. He also previously served on The Learning Center Board in Bowling Green, as well as the St. Clement Catholic School Advisory Board. Ryan and his family are active members of St. Clement Catholic Church. Ryan serves as a Eucharistic Minister and participates in the Christmas Eve church choir. Ryan has previously served on the parish council and has served on the steering committee for several projects. In July of 2023, Ryan married is wife Dr. Dana Frazine and together they have 6 children. Philip, Karoline, Jack, Henry, Conor, and Jorie. In his spare time Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife & family, attending concert and sporting events, as well as traveling.
